Eliot Aging-In-Place Committee Initiative Helps Eliot Strong COVID-19 Community Support

Community Support

Hello to all!

I’m sending this email today and posting it on the town website for a number of reasons. The first is to inform you that to the Eliot Aging in Place Committee (AIP) recently received funding from the New England Grassroots Fund to support our community during the coronavirus outbreak. I have attached a copy of the press release that provides more details. Please contact me if you are or know anyone who could benefit from this award.

The AIP has been collaborating with Eliot Strong to provide correct information on how to use gloves and masks and what procedure to follow when removing them. I am aware that everyone is not on Facebook so I have attached three separate handouts for your use. Fran Thomas and Gail Licciadello were instrumental in making this happen and to assure that this information is scientifically based to help you remain as safe as possible.

I hope you are all well. Our committee wants to encourage you to support the AIP proposed tax assistance program that will appear as an ordinance on the town ballot on July 14. Also, a friendly reminder to complete the U.S. Census Survey. Our committee has fortunately been funded by a number of organizations this year, and we have relied on the U.S. Census data to provide the most accurate information about our residents.

Stay safe during this time of confinement and remember that our committee is here to listen to your concerns. Please join us on May 21 for our next monthly meeting that will delivered on WebEx.

My best,

Ellen Ceppetelli
Chair, Eliot Aging in Place Committee
