Seasonal Intern - Town Clerk's Office
The “Seasonal Intern” is an introductory opportunity for an interested and appropriately qualified individual to municipal government operations. The intern will have contact with the general public, learn and participate in primary functions related to the Town Clerk’s Office and other interconnected departments.  The Intern may be assigned special projects. This is a seasonal and occasional position in the Town Clerk’s Office (primarily July, August).

COMMUNITY SERVICE DEPARTMENT

Program Coordinator 
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, administration and supervision of a variety of community-based recreation programs and services including after school programs, youth leagues, summer and day camp for residents of the ages 2-18 as well as coordination of senior citizen programs, and assist the Director with coordination of various departments special events.

Must have a valid Class C Motor Vehicle Driver’s License with a satisfactory driver’s record; the ability to obtain a CPR, AED and first aid certification.

A minimum of an Associate's degree or a journeyman's level of trade knowledge in Recreation, Sports Management, Education or a related field; a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

Eliot Police Job Post: Police Officer

The Eliot Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer.    
                                                                                         
We have an excellent reputation with our residents. In order to maintain this trust, the candidate must be community-oriented, highly motivated, possess strong leadership skills, and have the utmost integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent with no criminal or extensive motor vehicle record. Must be at least 21 years of age or 20 with at least 60 college credits at the time of hire.
Graduates of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (MCJA), or out-of-state equivalent are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants must pass the MCJA physical agility test and ALERT exam and possess a valid driver’s license.
As a condition of employment must submit to an extensive background investigation, including psychological, polygraph, and medical examinations.

Candidates must be willing to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PUBLIC WORKS

Summer Maintenance Opening
May 1st- October 31st.

The Eliot Public Works Department is hiring for a 32 hour per week Summer Maintenance position.  This position will be responsible for mowing and trimming all the town parks, town office, intersections and some cemeteries.

This position may occasionally assist the Public Works staff when necessary.  The ideal candidate will have experience with mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaw, pole saw and landscaping tools.

This position is not eligible for benefits, but will earn one hour of paid time off for every 40 hours worked.  Must have valid driver’s license. Basic background check is required.

TRANSFER STATION / RECYCLE CENTER

Fill-In (on-call) Transfer Station Attendant

The Town of Eliot, ME is accepting applications for a Fill-In (on-call) Transfer Station Attendant.

The Transfer Station hours are:  Wednesday 10-6 and Saturday 8-5.  Customer services skills are mandatory.

Required Duties Include, but not limited to:

Operating transfer station equipment:

Bailers

Trash compactors

Glass crushers

Other landscaping tools/equipment

Previous solid waste disposal and recycling knowledge would be beneficial, but not a requirement.  Pay for this position is $14.45 per hour, with no benefits.
