2018-2019 Total: $1089
January 2019
Grant award of $1089 from the Maine Community Fund to support mailing to all Eliot residents to
announce the two public meetings to be held in April and May to share community survey results and
seek further public input prior to the development of the AIP action plan’s 12.

2019-2020 Total: $4500
May 2019
Grant award of $2500 from AARP to develop the Eliot action plan. Funds used to hire a consultant to
write the final plan that was approved by the Eliot Select Board and the AARP Age Friendly Network
in January 2020. The Eliot plan was selected by the Network to be placed on its national website as
an exemplar for other communities.

December 2019
Grant award of $1000 from the Maine Community Foundation to support AIP participation in the
University of Maine pilot project of lifelong community fellows. Used to send a mailing to all
Eliot residents about the AIP/Select Board March workshop on the AIP proposal for a senior tax
assistance ordinance placed on the town ballot in July 2020.

April 2020
Grant award of $1000 from the New England Grassroots Fund to support AIP in responding to community
needs in Eliot during the COVID 19 outbreak. Half of the funds used to date to support residents in
need of food and home repair.

2020-2021   Total: $8000 to date
September 2020
2020 Community Challenge Grant award of $5000 from AARP to purchase and install five new benches at
the Eliot Duck Basin. Fall installation planned.
Honorarium of $3000 awarded to collaborate with the Foundation for Arts and Healing to participate
in its Successful Aging Pilot Project. This eight-week facilitated creative arts and discussion
group will be launched via Zoom on October 6, 2020.
