Effective January 1, 2002, the Eliot Transfer Station will not be accepting construction debris of any kind from contractors. This includes but not limited to wood, scraps, sheetrock, roofing, siding, etc.
Individual homeowners may still dispose of construction debris as long as it fits in a regular size pick-up bed (maximum 4x8 ) without any sideboards.
Effective January 1, 2002, the Eliot Transfer Station will not accept any trash from any commercial hauler of household trash. Any such hauler may dispose at the designated disposal site. The Selectmen will pay for a predetermined weight of trash based on the number of customers and an average weight of trash generated by households in Eliot. These haulers still need to stress that their customers need to recycle.
No one shall pick over any refuse of any kind.
